Before the British Invasion, there was Indorock. In the late 1950s, Indo-European and Moluccan youth displaced from the archipelago arrived in the Netherlands and electrified European stages. Bands like The Tielman Brothers and The Blue Diamonds brought a spectacular, untamed energy from Surabaya to Breda and The Hague, playing guitars behind their backs and pioneering a tape-echo sound that changed music forever. This tee is a pride statement for the third generation. By intertwining the iconic Jazzmaster silhouette with the Indonesian melati and the Ghanaian Sankofa bird honoring our Belanda Hitam ancestors, we claim our heritage loud and proud. We are the descendants of the first to play it loud.
